Qt, the library SuperCollider relies on for the IDE, GUI components and other important features, is soon releasing version 6.0 – the last major version change, Qt 5, was in 2012.
For anyone who has C++ experience and an interest in improving SuperCollider, this would be a good opportunity to contribute your time. This will require a decent amount of effort, and much of it does not require being intimately familiar with the codebase.
I’ve created a ticket for it with a rough list of the work needed here: https://github.com/supercollider/supercollider/issues/5169
If you want to help, just comment in the thread or message me on Slack. I’d be happy to give more info as needed.
