Live coding MIDI with BopPad and sensory percussion

The same is in: “every bit is exactly the same” or the same as in “just a bunch of meaningless numbers”? (In the latter case, the meaningless numbers probably contain the information you are looking for).

The problem with sysex is that it is not standardized, so every manufacturer can use it as they please, encoding information in whatever format they fancy (as long as it obeys the constraints that midi itself imposes).

If you cannot locate sysex reference documentation for your device it will be very difficult to make progress. In some cases it’s possible to reverse-engineer sysex by painstakingly changing small details on the device and systematically analyzing what the device sends out, but if you say you cannot see any differences in information from the device there’s nothing to start from.

Taking a look at the manual, apparently there’s a web editor which may be worth a try in a browser that supports webmidi (e.g. chrome): BopPad Editor | Keith McMillen Instruments
