One good and one bad bit of news:
- Good: DecentSampler can now be used for this. It previously had a bug where per-note pitch bend didn’t work, but that’s been fixed in the latest version. This is a free but not open-source sampler plug-in with a large library of sampled instruments.
- Bad: Due to some, hm, I’ll call it miscommunication, the main sfizz repository has been closed (archived). The MPE fork listed above still exists and works. I hope this isn’t the beginning of the end for that plug-in.
