What SuperCollider commands are you running to generate sound?
If none, you can try (after booting the server)
{ SinOsc.ar(200, 0, 0.5) }.play;
If the problem is not in the program, can you check your volume mixer settings in your operating system?
(see if something is muted)

I think reading “A Gentle Introduction To SuperCollider” is the fastest way to learn SC easily.
