Sometimes when I’m experimenting with code, I stop hearing sound either from the left channel or the right channel. It can be either one. Am I blowing out the speakers or something? The sound will eventually come back but after several minutes. I have tried it with multiple sets of headphones and it happens to all of them. Does anybody know what could be happening and how to prevent it? I’d appreciate any help.
Probably a synth is producing NaN or infinity. When the synth goes away, sound could be restored.
CheckBadValues.ar can help you find these.

The server can get into a state if you signal path has a divide by zero (so - an infinity) or - possibly - a LOT of DC. If it comes back, I think it may be the latter.
Try wrapping your output in LeakDC.ar
