Collaborative pattern sequencing: Individual or common scserver?

Dear list,

if one would like to do collaborative pattern sequencing in a live
situation I understand that LinkClock is currently the best and most
flexible solution.
Would it be wise to have each musician run her own scserver in such a
scenario, or would it be even better to have them all use a centralized
scserver, which outputs a common audio signal?

In the latter case, a crash of the common server/computer will end the
performance. Are there any other pros/cons?

Thanks,
Peter
