Could not initialize audio

Sorry, first timer.
I installed SuperCollider on my Manjaro linux. And trying s.boot gives me the following error.

Booting server 'localhost' on address 127.0.0.1:57110.

Faust: supercollider.cpp: sc_api_version = 3

VSTPlugin 0.5.1
could not initialize audio.
Server 'localhost' exited with exit code 0.

Sorry if I missed out something trivial during the setup. I couldnt find any steps regarding the server setup or find any existing issue of this kind. Please help me out.

Try starting Jack first. Open up QjAckctl and start jack from there, then try booting again the server.

Hi - it’s easiest to install QJackCtl to control jack. Then run it and press start.

huh, when i was searching for solutions for some reason it didn’t occur to me to just look up the name of the app to install it. thanks
