Fun with photoresistors

After seeing Eli Fieldsteel’s DIY photoresistor board I wanted to make a smaller one myself.

I wanted to find ways to use it that go beyond directly mapping sensor output to synth parameters.

Except for some minimal code on arduino, all processing happens in SCLang. Sound for now is generated by supercollider patterns sending midi to external sound sources. I’ve already done some experiments where supercollider itself generates sound as well, but didn’t want to focus on sound design just yet.

This is a demo with a status update I prepared for an online classroom presentation, but I decided to make it public to see if it can be interesting for others as well.
