ICLC 2025 (Barcelona) call for submissions (and reviewers)

Next year, the International Conference on Live Coding (ICLC) will be held in Barcelona!

So grab your keyboards (or alternate interfaces), put your live coding hats on, and start to plan your papers, performances, workshops or satellite events to share your interests and experiences with the rest of us!

From experience I can say that the Barcelona live coding community is a friendly and welcoming bunch, and we’re excited to see submissions from all over the world, from all kinds of people. How can we expand (or dissolve) boundaries in live coding? How can we lower the technical/social barriers to this form of public creative expression?

This is a kind of pre-call; the system to submit proposals/submissions should be live in a few weeks. For all the information, watch this space:

The full call for ICLC 2025 is now posted, and the submission system for articles as well as proposals for performances and workshops is open. Find all the details here:

We’re also looking to extend our pool of reviewers. If you’re active in a field related to live coding (in all its facets), and you’re interested in reviewing a paper, workshop or performance, please send an email with a short description and keywords of your field of expertise to iclc@toplap.cat.

We look forward to seeing your submissions!

CALL EXTENDED!

The ICLC 2025 Call for Proposals has been extended to allow for abstract registrations until September 22nd, allowing changes and uploads of the completed submission templates until September 30th.

This means you can just create an empty submission ID by the first deadline to hold your spot, and then you can add and change your materials until the second deadline!

Abstract registration will be opening on EasyChair TOMORROW September 3!

BTW: If anyone is submitting proposals, I found that the “submission site” link at the ICLC2025 site has an extra query parameter, that made it impossible for me to access the submission page.

  • ICLC 2025 says:
    https://easychair.org/my/conference?a=33278273&conf=iclc2025barcelona
  • Link in CFP:
    https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=iclc2025barcelona

The broken link, listed on the ICLC2025 page, has an extra “a=” query parameter.

So if anyone is having trouble getting in, make sure to delete that bit from the address.

Thanks so much for the info @jamshark70 - also if one is using Firefox and runs into CORS problem b/c of the captcha: Use Chrome

Thanks for the note @jamshark70, for me the link with “a=” also worked, but forced me to log in again each time I accessed it, then I get to the ICLC conference page. Without it, I can just go straight to the conference (assuming I was previously logged in to EasyChair). But it may depend on the browser.

Update: It has now been fixed on the website…thanks for reporting!

Glad to hear that – in my case, it would ask me to log in again, and then take me to a generic user account home page with no access to the ICLC sites.

Thanks for updating the link –
