I’ve generally stuck with x.04 long-term support versions (I vaguely remember having a bad experience with a .10 version), but heard from another user elsewhere that they had a better experience with 24.10.
Well, I guess the way this question really goes is, probably half the people say one thing and half say the other, and I end up following my gut anyway. But maybe worth having more information, at least for the sake of confusion
I had a generally good experience with US 20.04 and 22.04 (except 22.04’s switch to the Plasma desktop, but I’ll avoid that by starting with xubuntu and installing the Ubuntu Studio packages on top of that – they put a lot of work into supporting other distros). Audio just worked without dropouts.
