Is there a linux distribution that is more suitable to run supercollider?

Brief, related question:

Ubuntu Studio 24.04 vs 24.10…?

Will very likely upgrade over the weekend.

I’ve generally stuck with x.04 long-term support versions (I vaguely remember having a bad experience with a .10 version), but heard from another user elsewhere that they had a better experience with 24.10.

Well, I guess the way this question really goes is, probably half the people say one thing and half say the other, and I end up following my gut anyway. But maybe worth having more information, at least for the sake of confusion

I checked the base audio packages for the LTS, which are modern/up-to-date. They switched to pipewire shipped with jack compatibility.

It seems a quite fine system,

I had a generally good experience with US 20.04 and 22.04 (except 22.04’s switch to the Plasma desktop, but I’ll avoid that by starting with xubuntu and installing the Ubuntu Studio packages on top of that – they put a lot of work into supporting other distros). Audio just worked without dropouts.
