Routing SC to DAW in this particular way with Loopback?

Hi,

I recently switched to Mac OS from Windows and I’m struggling to recreate the same internal routing I had for recording SC directly into DAW. I used JACK on Windows and I’m trying to do the same thing with Loopback on Mac OS.

With JACK I used to route SC directly into Reaper without SC itself going to the audio output (I basically listened to it through Reaper when doing this): this was because I use Sonarworks correction while sound designing and this way I could just place the Sonarworks plugin on the Reaper track without having to switch in/out devices in SC everytime I wanted to record (you have to turn off Sonarworks correction while recording or it’ll apply that EQ curve to the recorded audio, this can be done simply bypassing the plugin in a DAW, but in SC you have to actually reboot the server), and of course I could record directly in the DAW which is what I need for sketching out ideas and composing.

I can’t seem to get this working on Loopback. I managed to route SC into Reaper, but I’m not finding a way to make SC not go ALSO directly to the audio outs, so I’m hearing both SC and SC going through Reaper which is not what I need: I need to hear ONLY Reaper, through which SC audio is passing.
I tried JACK on Mac OS but it’s more difficult to use and I can’t seem to find the patchbay window I was using on Windows (it was really intuitive that way, Loopback seems to be different).

Anyone know how to do this? I know it’s a bit tricky. Thanks in advance!

Personally, I haven’t used Loopback, so I can’t really help, but I just wanted to point out that there is also BlackHole: Route Audio Between Apps.
