The party is starting soon @ 2025-07-26T00:00:00Z and lasts for 24 hours
Update: Apply for performance slots via https://stream.supercollider.online/
During the meeting to coordinate the upcoming 3.14 release, we decided that it would be great to have an online community event where people could share how they use SuperCollider in their practice - something like an online party to celebrate the release!
The basic idea is to hand out 20-minute performance slots as live video streams.
Although this is a common playground for live coding performances, it would be great to see a variety of performances, such as non-sound-related performances, lecture (performances), demonstrations of non-standard applications of SuperCollider, some interesting compositions, improvisation etc…
The only condition is that the performance uses or is related to SuperCollider in some way - so people who use e.g. Tidal Cycles are also welcomed to the party!
You are also invited to try out the new 3.14 release via the pre-release (see 3.14.0-rc1 announcement) and use its new features within the performance (see News in 3.14 | SuperCollider 3.14.0-rc2 Help).
The only thing we need is a date when this will happen; and for this we want to ask the community!
Deadline for this poll will be 2025-06-27T09:00:00Z and multiple choices are possible.

- 2025-07-12
- 2025-07-19
- 2025-07-26
Once a date has been settled the date will be announced via this thread and also the procedure of how people can apply for a performance slot will be announced.
Based on the feedback/interaction with this poll we will decide how long this event goes - so make sure to vote if you want to have a party!
I am in talks with the nice people from toplap and they will probably provide their streaming and streaming-organization platform so we don’t have to rely on YouTube etc. for this event. Many thanks for this support already, consider donating to them via TOPLAP - Open Collective!
The Code of Conduct applies to this event.
Greetings from the dev team <3

You can now start to apply for performance slots via https://stream.supercollider.online/
Please share this link with your peers!
Many thanks to the people from TOPLAP to provide the infrastructure for this event!
Please ask in this thread if there are any questions regarding the event or streaming setup.
Signed up yesterday! It’s really easy to sign up, and the live streaming config is straightforward.
Let’s have more!

There are still some performance slots available at https://stream.supercollider.online/ - it would be really great if we manage to fill as many slots as possible for the party! Especially newcomers are welcomed to the party!
The event will not be recorded (use your local OBS to record if you want to), so it is also great for people who just want to try out things and have some fun.
I also invited the people from tidal cycles to the party => SuperCollider 3.14 release party - Announcements - Tidal Club
Hope to see you at the party!

In case performers experience problems with their streams: Please DM me in the forum or visit the #stream-org channel in the TOPLAP Discord, use the TOPLAP Signal group or use this thread.
Did anyone else record their set? Particularly since most of the activity was between 2 and 6 am or so where I live – I missed some sets I’d have liked to see.
(To answer some of the questions in the chat – no, it’s not ChucK language – I did steal the =>
operator for my own purpose. The pattern dialect is homegrown and all implemented in SC itself, using the preprocessor – find the PDF manual in the repository for details.)

Thanks everyone who participated in this event - it was thoroughly awesome and I think everyone had a great time and eulerroom was a really nice place for this event!
Maybe we can do this again for the release of 3.15.0
Regarding recordings: every performance was recorded by the streaming server and I have downladed/saved them on my local drive. I will make those recordings available to the performers via a download link via mail and also ask them if they would like to have this uploaded under a (new?) SuperCollider YT channel - we still have the video recordings of the Symposium that I’d also like to make available/archive on such a channel.
Also much thanks to TOPLAP for providing the eulerroom infrastructure for this event! Please consider donating to them via TOPLAP - Open Collective
