Something I’ve been working on. Early days, but I think it’s ready for a seasoned group to mess with. There’s a short and a longer.
Short:
I’ve made an instrument inspired by the Moog DFAM (Drummer from Another Mother), Dumber from Another Mother, with more modulation and some idiosyncratic behavior. There’s a gui, a bunch of presets, and a handful of examples of further manipulation with sclang. It’s fun. Depending on your disposition, really fun.
Longer:
I’ve had a project on the backburner for years, which is to create a library in vanilla SC that makes it relatively easy and automated to have dynamic audio “patching” with an optional matrix-style gui. I’ve been teaching private SC lessons, where the topic of routing always comes up, motivating me to pick up on this project. At some point, I’ll share the library with documentation. Right now, I’m not sure that I’m satisfied with the way I’m handling certain things, though it seems to be holding up well in use. In any case, that library is used in this project.
