SuperCollider Moderation

If you experience any conflicts, malicious content or unacceptable behaviour, please do not hesitate to contact the mod team!
Every incident will be taken seriously and the mod team will try to find a solution according to our Code of Conduct.

How to contact the mod team?

There are several ways to contact the Mod Team. In the order of preference, these are

  • Flag the first instance of an offending issue
    • in the forum (see how to) or
    • on GitHub (see how to, please use Report to repository admins). This triggers the automatic moderation process and tools, and is the best way to get attention to your issue.
  • on other platforms/fora use the local flagging tools or contact addresses if available.
  • Contact the mod team via a PM in the forum (click the Message button at the top of this page) or mention the moderation team in a forum post by writing @moderators.
  • If you do not have a forum account: Send an email to info@scsynth.org.

This document refers primarily to scsynth.org and the GitHub repository, but other platforms will have their own moderation procedures and mechanisms.

The current forum moderators list is here: https://scsynth.org/g/moderators/ (requires you to be logged in). Unfortunately GH does not provide a way to make the moderators list there public, but we can provide this info on request. Please refrain from contacting moderators directly and use the contact methods above to resolve an issue in the best and fastest manner.

Note that interactions with moderators or responses to outcomes are subject to the same expectations outlined in the Code of Conduct as any other interactions. Moderation involves difficult judgement calls, at times involving information which moderators cannot make public, and it is inevitable that some members may not be satisfied with its outcomes. This is not a justification for aggression or abuse towards moderators, who are all volunteers. If you feel that you have ideas on how to improve moderation, please consider…

Becoming part of the mod team

The mod team is always looking for people to help out with moderation.
Feel free to take the initiative - this is especially an invitation to people who want to contribute to the SuperCollider project, but don’t want to contribute through coding.

Just contact the moderators to get things started, and/or see Call for Volunteer Moderators for more discussion.
